What the ‘Life. Be In It.’ campaign can teach you about large-scale behaviour change

If you grew up in the 80s like me, the ‘Life. Be In It.’ campaign was everywhere. Norm and the crew tapped into the current behaviours of Australians that impact our wellness and it gave us a picture of what life could be.

But fear not, you don't need a campaign for every little change. There is a ton of great insight we can all pull from this kind of large-scale behaviour change and apply it on a more individual scale. The key? Behavioural coaching.

Tactical Coaching Masterclass: Mindset

In our upcoming tactical coaching masterclass, we have the privilege of hearing from Mike Dunn, Director at GRIST. With his vast experience in change consultation and deep understanding of psychology, Mike offers valuable insights into the significant impact mindset has on coaching.

Our discussion will delve into the various coach mindset approaches and provide practical tips for enhancing the coachee's mindset during coaching sessions.

Bringing back-office coaching front of mind

Jing Chang, Head of the Concessions Deed Management team at VicRoads, has effectively utilised the GRIST ACDC Tactical Leadership model to drive behavioural change, boost productivity, and foster team engagement.

In our recent discussion, we explored the applicability of coaching for back-office teams facing distinctive challenges.

Coaching behaviourally can be challenging for these teams as they lack a customer reference point and consist of members with diverse roles and responsibilities. So how do you navigate what to focus on and how to coach these sorts of teams?

Measurement Made Easy episode 5

Caitlin and Stacey caught up with Dr Alaina Szlachta on her 'Measurement Made Easy' video series to follow up on the lessons learned from creating an assessment tool to evaluate the capabilities of team leaders to navigate organisational change.

Did our assessment tool work as we imagined? Did it give us the data and insights we hoped for? Discover what was learned and what we would do differently in this micro-learning video!

So... what is a Micro-behaviour?

No doubt you've heard us talk ALOT about micro-behaviours (we just can't shut up about them!), but what are they and why should you care?

In short, Micro-behaviours are small actions that you can SEE someone DO or HEAR them SAY.

They are definable, observable, repeatable, and 100% within the control of the individual.

Crucially, when selected in line with organisational goals or strategy, they’re predictive of performance outcomes.

They enable individuals to work on incremental improvements and allow for individual expression and adaption to diverse roles and scenarios.
