Behavioural training program drives business outcomes and wins LearnX award

GRIST is proud to announce that we have won a platinum Learn X Award for Best Leadership Capability Development Program in Australia for 2019, in partnership with a Big Four Australian bank.

As we know, the highly publicised regulatory and remuneration changes across the financial sector have caused many organisations to change the way that they set performance scorecards. The next complex challenge is to change the leadership conversations and behaviours required to deliver positive business outcomes using these scorecards. Leaders now need to find new ways to drive performance. They must be able to identify and understand the behaviours (inputs) that influence positive outcomes (outputs) and learn how to coach to these using a behavioural-focussed style of leadership.

GRIST’s micro-behavioural approach allows organisations to achieve excellence by degrees, supporting small, incremental changes that build up to sustainable change and successful outcomes.

GRIST worked with the bank to identify the behaviours that were key to generating positive business outcomes and coach their people to do them consistently. Conversational benchmarking analysis played a pivotal role, allowing GRIST to analyse the bank’s existing leadership conversations and highlight key areas that needed attention to drive performance.

The program was designed to address four key leadership themes and was run nationally. Training was provided face-to-face and via interactive webinars that utilised virtual rooms to encourage engagement with participants and provide opportunities to practice what they were learning.

Feedback from participants has been outstanding with internal engagement and satisfaction scores around 50-60% above the average. Some leaders are now saying that their team’s performance is stronger than when results-focussed scorecards were the norm.

GRIST is proud to be part of this bank’s ongoing commitment to outstanding customer service, and to have been jointly acknowledged with them on this achievement.
